From layers of conflict to fragmentation of memory, this video for Thanatos’ song ‘Homage To Catalonia’ symbolically depicts universal themes of war through collage and stop motion animation – popular art techniques during the era of the Spanish Civil War.  Distorted natural video textures intertwine with deconstructed found photographs of this conflict.  This footage is cut up and reassembled, mirroring war’s destruction and reconstruction of a country’s infrastructure and its resolve.
